Queenstown to Auckland to LA to NYC (it’s a 40 hour day!)
Sunny and nice is Queenstown
Don’t want to know what it is in NYC

We finish packing, trying to distribute the weight of the wine bottles throughout the bags so we don’t get hit with an overweight charge, and hang out in town for a bit – our flight is not till 3:15. We do more shopping, and grab lunch at Fergburger, which seems to be something of QT  institution. Once we get the burgers, we understand why. Very good, though there is the sweet ketchup relish that the Kiwis are so found of and I am not. And huge, really giant. I have plates that are smaller. A very nice way to finish up QT and our honeymoon.

We drive the whooping 10 mins to the airport, it’s a small little place, and wait for our flight. It takes off and lands in good time,  though the take off was quite bumpy – I guess all the mountains make for a quite a bit of turbulence. We don’t have very long in Auckland but dutiful spend down to out last dollar coins and wait for the long flight. Its not a bad trip – we luxuriate, if that is the word, in the wee bit of extra room (and free booze!) we get in premium economy, and I get a good 6 hours of sleep. We land in LA and wait a bit for our bags at customs, but get through ok and await the flight to NYC. Quite happily Alex got us upgrades, but it will be a challenge to not fall asleep en route.

And so I will leave you, faithful readers, which a few thoughts on NZ:

Alpca/Pony/Horse poo – they sell it by the bagful                                   Bacon flavored potato chips – why haven’t they caught on in the US?
Diet ginger beer. It’s Good Thing. See above.                                              Blue Cod=Yummy fish + chips                                                                 Canyoning good. Caving good. Boats good. Tramping good. Malborough Sauvignon Blanc good. Honeymoons good! We’ll have to do this again soon!
