Berrywild Fro-Yo

Look everyone, it’s another fro-yo chain! Just what this city needs in this time of economic crisis and bone chilling cold. I don’t know much about Berrywild, but there do seem to be a few of them springing up. I came across this one after a visit to the acupuncturist and figured I’d give it a try.
As is the case, each of these new places needs to have their THING. Berrywild’s is they have two types of yogurt; “berry smooth” and “kinda icy”. Oh yeah, they also need to be filled with puns and have a cool white modernist look. Check and check.
But how’s the yogurt you ask? Well, I’m not much of one for icy textures in my yogurt desserts so I got a swirl of plain and caribbean coffee from the smooth isle. The texture is definitely smooth and creamy, and I really liked the coffee flavor. The plain was fairly tart, and it was a mistake to blend the two. If I was getting a plain again, it would need to be in the Pinkberry/Red Mango mode - by itself with some fruit/cereal toppings (which they have plenty of), although I think the plain yogurt at those two places is better. But I could see myself going back for the coffee again. It actually tasted like real coffee, and there wasn’t much of an aftertaste.
Overall, I’d say not really worth seeking out, but it’ll sub for Pinkberry or Red Mango in a pinch - and if you’re looking for more traditional frozen yogurt flavors then it’s your man.
